Controlled specification

Build the machine, sleeve, tunnel and acceptance requirements in one document.

A useful specification names the approved formats and materials rather than relying on broad phrases such as “various bottles” or “high speed”. It also separates supplier responsibilities from customer utilities, upstream machinery and downstream handling.

Record every published figure with its basis. A maximum speed should state the sleeve length, container, tunnel route and quality criteria used for confirmation. A dimensional range should identify the format tooling and trial samples that prove the difficult ends.

Complete specification

Add process controls, safety, inspection and quotation boundaries to the dimensional brief.

Lay-flat, cut length and container dimensions start the machine selection. The final order also needs controlled reel handling, line signals, reject response, finished-pack inspection, guarding, installation interfaces and acceptance evidence.
