Quote checklist
Prepare a stronger sleeve applicator enquiry with the container, sleeve, output, tunnel and integration details needed for a realistic shortlist.

Before you enquire
This checklist is designed for buyers who want a realistic shortlist rather than a generic machine reply. It covers the pack, sleeve, tunnel, output and integration details that affect the final specification.
Height, width, diameter, shape, material, neck/cap dimensions, filled weight, empty stability and photos.
Lay-flat, cut length, material, thickness, seam, perforation, artwork orientation and required position.
Units per minute or hour, shifts, changeover frequency, SKU range and whether manual loading is acceptable.
Steam availability, electric capacity, extraction, air, water, drainage, moisture sensitivity and footprint constraints.
Existing filler, capper, labeller, coder, inspection, conveyors, accumulation and packing equipment.
New line, upgrade, replacement, trial production, budget stage, required delivery window and installation expectations.
Use this short template when sending the first enquiry:
We are looking for a sleeve applicator for [container type]. The sleeve is for [full body / neck band / tamper evidence / partial sleeve]. Container dimensions are [height / diameter / shape / material]. Sleeve details are [lay-flat / cut length / material / perforation if known]. Target output is [units per minute or hour]. The machine needs to integrate with [existing equipment]. Available space and utilities are [footprint / steam / electric / air]. Photos, samples or drawings are attached.
FAQ
Send clear photos of the container front, side, top, cap or lid, plus any existing line layout or conveyor area.
Exact sleeve dimensions are helpful, but if they are not available, send the container dimensions and target sleeve position so the requirement can be reviewed.
Project support
A useful sleeve applicator shortlist starts with the real pack: container shape, sleeve lay-flat, cut length, required position, tunnel type, production speed and line layout.
Attach the same dated pack specification and process boundary to each quotation request. Ask the supplier to identify assumptions alongside included items so an applicator-only price is not compared with a proposal containing a tunnel, transfers and format parts.
Create a short clarification list after receiving each proposal. Record whether the container and sleeve have been reviewed, which formats are included and what evidence is still required before final approval. Keep optional items and possible future formats separate from the equipment needed for the first production job.
First identify the differences in equipment, format coverage and project responsibilities so the comparison reflects the same requirement.
Retain the approved specification revision, clarifications and outstanding decisions as part of the project record.
